Use of force incidents are no longer evaluated solely through the lens of Graham v. Connor. Courts now consider a broader set of legal, factual, and investigative factors when reviewing force incidents, creating increased scrutiny for officers, supervisors, and agencies.
This course examines the evolving legal standards governing use of force investigations, focusing on constitutional analysis, investigative decision-making, and liability considerations. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how modern courts assess force incidents and why investigations must go beyond a simple reasonableness inquiry.
Our training experts recommend this course for all officers, ranks, and command staff that are responsible for training.
