Significant use of force incidents present complex leadership challenges that extend beyond the initial event. Chiefs and agency leaders must navigate investigative requirements, officer support, public scrutiny, and organizational accountability while maintaining operational stability and public trust. This course examines the leadership perspective following a significant use of force, focusing on the responsibilities of agency leadership in managing investigations, supporting personnel, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring professional and legally defensible outcomes. Participants will gain insight into how leadership decisions influence both organizational effectiveness and long-term agency credibility.
