Public demonstrations and civil unrest present complex legal and operational challenges for law enforcement leaders. This session will review legal standards for law enforcement protest response including time, place, and manner restrictions, lawful orders, and enforcement thresholds. Training will also explore the legal definitions of hate speech, threat assessment, and passive resistance.

This course will also focus on areas including:
