Getting Started
Welcome to the 4-Week Supervisory Liability Online Training
We are honored to have you participating in the class. Daigle Law Group, LLC is a law firm that takes great pride in providing our clients with specialized, focused representation. We provide police practices management consultation to law enforcement agencies, security, and corrections across the country. Our team focuses on operational liability with an emphasis on policies, operations, and investigations.
Virtual Education & Training
For the past few years, we at DLG Learning Center have been focusing on enhancing virtual and educational based training. To be productive in a non-productive time, we are offering a virtual Supervisory Liability Training program. The focus of this program is to identify proper legal and operational standards for supervisors. The training will focus on enhancing the effectiveness, operations, and management of government operations. Training will review policy standards, legal interpretations, and Consent Decree standards that make up liability protection. This training is directed to supervisors, new and experienced.
Course Requirements
Successful completion of this program will depend on a number of factors including:
- Reviewing lectures from the instructor and weekly assigned readings from the course textbook and websites.
- Please refer to the Course Calendar for more information on class requirements.
- Posting and responding to weekly discussion questions in the appropriate discussion area
- Completing a case study for each module designed to test your ability to apply the knowledge you have gained to a “real life” situation
- Completing and submitting the case analysis paper
Classroom participation and the guided discussions will be as important in this online setting as it would be in any actual “face-to-face” classroom environment, particularly for this type of certificated program. Substantive and meaningful class discussions during this program will be vital for the exchange of ideas and potential solutions to shared problems, so full participation in the discussion portion of the classes will be vital to passing this course.
A forum question will be posted weekly in the Discussion area of each module. You will be expected to respond to the forum questions with a 250 to 300-word response. Your response should be supported by facts and references from lectures. In addition, you need to indicate in your response how you would apply this information to your current work environment. You will also be expected to constructively comment on the other responses posted by your classmates. This activity should generate meaningful discussions and an exchange of ideas. I will participate in and monitor your classroom discussions in order to gauge how well you comprehend the materials and to ensure that you are following along with lectures and readings.
