Welcome to the Corrections: Today’s Contraband Challenges training course. This course will discuss what contraband is and how it may be defined differently by facilities and policy. Training will cover categories and examples of contraband, inmate property lists, unauthorized items and when authorized items can become unauthorized, and provide tips to control contraband and maintain consistency.

This course will also focus on areas including:

  • Top current contraband trends
  • Inmate, property, and cell searches
  • Equipment used for searches

Instructor: Attorney Eric P. Daigle

Lieutenant Joseph Celetti is a fourteen-year veteran of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department in Ludlow Massachusetts. During his first 5 years with the Sheriff’s Department, he had worked all security posts in our Maximum and Medium Security facilities as a Line Staff Correctional Officer. Lt. Celetti holds an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix. He is a certified Massachusetts Sheriff’s Association (MSA) Defensive Tactics Instructor, Edged Weapons Instructor, Ground Defense Instructor, and an Oleoresin Capsicum Instructor. He is also a certified Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee’s (MPTC) Lead Firearms Instructor, American Heart Association CPR/AED Instructor, MSA/MPTC First Responder Instructor, TASER Instructor, and FitForce® Physical Fitness Coordinator. Lt. Celetti has served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. He currently serves as the First Sergeant for the 972nd Military Police Company.
