Welcome to the Building a Complete Integrated Use of Force Program training course. This course is designed to help law enforcement officers move beyond traditional block training and embrace a fully integrated approach to use of force. By interleaving lessons of legal frameworks, hands-on techniques, less-lethal options, lethal force, and de-escalation strategies into one cohesive training environment, officers will learn how to seamlessly transition between tools and tactics. The focus is on developing the skills to assess and adapt in real-time, to evaluate the level of force needed to effectively manage a wide range of situations. This dynamic scenario-based training, prepares officers to respond with confidence, competence, and control in any use-of-force scenario.

Instructor: Lieutenant Michael Creter
Michael Creter is a Lieutenant with the Hartford Police Department, serving the city for more than eighteen years. He is the currently commander of the Southwest District and the Street Crimes Units. He has worked in the patrol division as an officer and supervisor, and was an operator and team leader of the Emergency Response Team. He has been a full-time academy instructor, supervisor, or adjunct instructor for over thirteen years. Michael is a Master Instructor in the L.O.C.K.U.P. Arrest & Control system, training new and current instructors in the system throughout the country. As an instructor, Michael specializes in teaching Use of Force, Defensive Tactics, and Less Lethal Force Options. He also provides training, analysis and review for other police agencies and organizations.
